Inspiration
Go to any job site now and the average job will have thousands of applicants. This makes it impossible for employers to make good hiring decisions and forces them to rely on poor heuristics for hiring. Unfortunately, this means that both employers and prospective applicants get the short end of the stick - employer wastes their time and good prospects never even get a chance.
What it does
Currently, Tactix helps you shortlist your applicant pool to the top three applicants that most closely align with your requirements so instead of looking at a thousand, you can focus on three and make a well informed decision. This is over 1000x reduction in the amount of time it takes to hire and vet candidates and also gives the best candidates a chance.
How we built it
The stack is:
Convex (database, functions, secrets) Resend, Github, Linkedin for auth + organization management Vercel for deploying to staging and prod OpenAI SDK for AI features Next JS (App Router) Tailwind CSS ShadCN UI
Challenges we ran into
It was tough building this alone in such a short period of time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Building Tactix in the time it took was a huge accomplishment.
What we learned
I learned Convex's approach to data management which is slightly different from traditional SQL-based solutions and I love it.
What's next for Tactix
I want to refine the product (UI and ranking algorithm), and launch!
