Inspiration
I was constantly struggling to manage my Chrome tabs because I always had too many open. It was becoming difficult to find what I needed and my computer was slowing down. So, I started brainstorming ways to automate the process of organizing my tabs. That's how I came up with the idea for an automatic tab grouper using machine learning.
What it does
Tablify is an automatic tab grouper that uses machine learning to group similar tabs together. It helps users keep their tabs organized and makes it easier to find what they need. The tool learns from the user's browsing habits and groups tabs based on website content, title, and other factors. It also automatically closes tabs that have been inactive for a long period of time.
How we built it
I worked with a team to build Tablify. We used Python for the machine learning and JavaScript for the Chrome extension. We trained the machine learning model on a dataset of keywords and their corresponding categories to help it learn how to group tabs effectively.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges we faced was training the machine learning model. We had to collect a lot of data to help the model learn how to group tabs effectively. We also had to fine-tune the model to make sure it didn't group unrelated tabs together. Another challenge was building the Chrome extension, which required us to learn new technologies.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're really proud of the fact that we were able to build a tool that helps people be more productive. We've received positive feedback from users who say that Tablify has made their lives easier. We're also proud of the machine learning model we developed, which is able to accurately group tabs based on website content and other factors.
What we learned
Through building Tablify, we learned a lot about machine learning, data collection, and Chrome extension development. We also learned the importance of collaboration and teamwork when it comes to building complex projects.
What's next for Tablify
We're constantly working to improve Tablify and make it even more effective at organizing tabs. In the future, we're planning to add more features, such as the ability to customize grouping criteria. We're also looking into expanding Tablify to work with other browsers besides Chrome.
