Inspiration --The inspiration was my mother. She was allergic to certain tablets and would break out in painful rashes or fall severely ill after taking them without knowing the risks. Seeing her suffer made me want to build a solution that checks tablets before anyone consumes them.

What It Does TabletX provides a pre-consumption safety summary for each tablet before you take it:

--Allergy & Health Issue Alerts: Alerts users if a tablet conflicts with their allergies or pre-existing health conditions (like diabetes, heart issues, epilepsy, or pregnancy). --Doctor Guidance: Warns users to bring it to a doctor's notice before swallowing it and specifies what type of specialist doctor to reach out to (e.g., Allergist, Endocrinologist, Neurologist). --First-Aid Alternatives: Suggests safer remedies and alternatives before any harm can happen. How We Built It --Backend & Clinical Engine: Built with Python and Django to match patient conditions and allergies against medication data. --ChromaDB & RAG: Converted curated clinical datasets into a local RAG vector store. --Dual Operation: Powered by Gemini AI when online, with an offline deterministic engine that runs without any API key. --Interactive Frontend: A clean, light-mode interface with quick-switch scenario buttons and live risk indicators. Challenges We Ran Into --Making the system work completely without the Gemini API. We had to source different datasets and convert them into a local RAG system so the platform remains fully functional and reliable using only the local dataset, even with zero API keys or no internet. --Ensuring the advice is accurate and strictly avoids medical hallucinations. Accomplishments That We're Proud Of --Even though it uses a predefined dataset of medications, it still works reliably and gives accurate, useful insights. --It functions effectively as a quick first-aid checkup to alert patients and suggest remedies before any serious health issue or tragedy occurs. What We Learned --We learned how easily wrong tablet consumption can trigger life-threatening issues (like blood sugar spikes in diabetics or seizures in epilepsy). --How to build a reliable RAG pipeline that operates locally without relying on paid APIs. --How to design intuitive, stress-free interfaces for quick medical checks. What's Next for TabletX --Doctor Consultation Interface: Building a portal where users can directly consult a doctor for medication advice. --Immediate Alternatives & Overdose Protection: Providing verified instant alternatives to prevent drug overdosing, toxic combinations, and health hazards.
