Inspiration

Imagine our world with XR enhancing all physical objects with a great integration of the virtual world. It could be a great world to live in. Combining that concept with table tennis by using "Real Table Tennis Paddle" to practice table tennis in real life and enhance it with the abilities of XR. Practice makes everything possible.

What it does

Introducing Real Table Tennis Practice, the first of its kind and your ultimate companion in learning the art of ping pong! If you are just stepping onto the table for the first time or are familiar with the sport and want to train, this innovative app is designed to guide you and provide a space for you to train.

With Real Table Tennis Practice, you have three dynamic modes at your fingertips: Training, Tutorial, and Freestyle. In Training mode, embark on a journey to master the perfect swing, spawn a ball with precision, and unleash your power to hit that winning shot.

The Tutorial mode serves as your personal coach, guiding you through step-by-step tutorials to perfect your technique.

And when you're ready to unleash your creativity, Freestyle mode lets you play on your terms.

But what sets Real Table Tennis Practice apart is its versatility. Before you start, choose your dominant hand to hold the paddle. Whether you're left-handed or right-handed, the app adapts to your style, ensuring a personalized experience every time.

So why wait? Elevate your game with Real Table Tennis Practice today and experience the thrill of mastering the table, one swing at a time.

Real Table Tennis Practice: Where virtual training meets real-world results.

How we built it

Mapped empty collider of a pre-selected object with the position of a real-world object and let real-world object move together with virtual one.

Challenges we ran into

Physic of Ping Pong ball is still not that stable and hand tracking may have a little bit lacking behind and disappear in some angle.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

To be able to use real physical device as input for XR.

What we learned

To use the real physical device as input for XR is possible and that opens so many possibilities.

What's next for Real Table Tennis Practice

Make more practice use cases focusing on real effective training and add better features that XR can provide.
