Second Chance

Inspiration

Motivated by the desire to reduce waste and help those in need, we created Second Chance.

What it does

Second Chance is a platform that connects people who have items they no longer need with those who can make use of them. It’s a win-win situation: reducing waste and helping others.

How we built it

We built Second Chance using a combination of web technologies. The front-end was designed with user-friendliness in mind, while the back-end ensures efficient and secure transactions. We used technologies like Taipy, Auth0, Mongodb, TinyMCE, Python, JS, HTML, and CSS.

Creating a user-friendly interface and ensuring the security of authentication were some of the challenges we faced during development

We are proud of creating a platform that not only reduces waste but also helps those in need. The positive feedback from our users has been incredibly rewarding.

What we learned

We learned a lot about web development, user interface design, and the importance of security in online transactions. But most importantly, we learned how technology can be used to make a positive impact on society.

What's next for Second Chance

We plan to expand Second Chance to more regions and continue improving the user experience. We believe that with Second Chance, we can make a difference one item at a time.
