Inspiration

As college students, money don't come easy. That's why we share subscription accounts. Netflix, Spotify, Hulu... you name it. (Wait. Not Hulu). Tabby serves as a virtual (bar) tab that allows you to keep track of all your monthly commitments to entertainment. After all, Hulu for two, was made for me and you. (Wait. Not Hulu). Netflix and chill, split the bill.

What it does

It allows users to receive reminders on monthly reoccurring bills to pay. Create Tabbs in our crisp Services page, and add other users by email. From there, we'll do the heavy lifting and remind users of how much they owe, per month and keep track of all subscriptions you may have!

How we built it

We used the core web technologies (HTML/CSS/JS), and also utilized twilio to send notifications, firebase to store our user data, and more (Talk to us during our demo for more).

Challenges we ran into

Dealing with coding challenges such as: learning curve for Twilio, Firebase, asynchronous programming, etc. Sleep fatigue, intense Air Conditioning, and one especially difficult neck crick.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We finished our idea of what an MVP should look like (for the project. For the team, I was the MVP). We learned a lot about web application development (and how android is so much easier; s/o to Android SDK).

What we learned

We learned that crack chocolate should not be consumed within thirty minutes of each other. Technically, software design is critical for a project's success.

What's next for Tabby

We want to expand on core functionality and provide users even more options, notifications, payment services, etc. Overall, a user experience to die (split a bill) for.

P.S. We couldn't get our .TECH approval in time. We run everything on localhost at the moment. You're welcome to visit us during our demo for a live presentation.

P.P.S. We figured out our .tech! Find (use) our website at www.tabbys.tech!
