Inspiration: The requirement to raise awareness about water pollution residing in our planet made us think of an idea such as this.
What it does: You open a small portal using the cutter tool provided, And then you go fish in the comfort of your home with _ Mixed Reality _ ! While fishing you may find some garbage that pollute the sea your job is to recycle them away.
How we built it: Made the models and the model textures ourselves and then combined them in Unity using Passthrough, Spatial Anchors, Haptic Feedback, Grab Interaction.
Challenges we ran into: Struggling with the rope physic, wasn't able to properly unhook the fish for a while. Apart from that we haven't ran into much struggles that we stumbled upon.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: The mechanics of the fishing rod, The fishing rod models and texture that we have pride in.
What we learned: What we have done is mostly stuff we already knew beforehand.
What's next for [T26] FloorFisher: We plan on adding features as:
Implementation of Co-op Gameplay: Fishing in the same enviorment in real life using Colacation and even adding a multiplayer competitive fishing mode. Improving Gameplay Mechanics: Implementing a sell and a buy function to make profits inorder to afford upgrades and attain better fishing rods for higher rarity fish , And an addittion of a monster to feed in order to add that requirement to keep on fishing while trash gets in your way. Improving The Awareness Part Of It: A narration speaking in when you catch trash to talk about water pollution such as statistics of how much sea life we lose yearly from, water pollution.
