Inspiration
The dilemma of writing my resume and feeling lost when looking for a job.
What it does
It helps fresh graduates navigate fragmented career information. It turns job listings and company data into a personalised roadmap, recommending the best-matched roles, refining resumes for each company, showing compatibility scores, and suggesting improvements. It also offers forums, commute info, and a simulated application process.
How we built it
The platform is CSV-based, with a Flask backend, SQLite database, and Google Gemini AI for search, recommendation, OCR, and compatibility scoring. app.py serves as the API entry point, data_load processes job data, llm_service handles AI tasks, and init_db sets up forms. The frontend is static, showing job details, forums, commute info, and application simulation.
Challenges we ran into
Team bonding, as members were new to each other. Coordinating across different system environments (iOS vs Windows). Integrating multiple stacks (backend, frontend, AI) smoothly.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We designed a user-centric job search system that considers multiple perspectives, including skills, commute, preferences, and role fit. Our “One Job, One Resume” feature uniquely tailors resumes and shows compatibility, helping users apply more effectively.
What we learned
Configuring APIs and integrating multiple stacks. Practical GitHub usage for collaborative development. Video editing for presenting demos. Critical thinking in designing a system that meets diverse user needs.
What's next for Team 111_OneJob_OneResume
