Inspiration
T.A.L.L was made with children with learning disabilities although it is equally useful for all children it uses AI to teach children the alphabet and numbers. We found one of the best ways to learn a language for children is through tracing. It also has other benefits like helping their motor skills.

Challenges we ran into
Some challenges that took a lot of time were finding the best way to recognize handwriting since there are very few OCR data sets that are competent with handwriting and we did not have time to create our own dataset and train the ML model. Another issue we ran into was making the image load into the input canvas due to issues with creating a mask of the outline.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Fixing these hurdles and having a complete application is the thing we are most proud of especially since this is our first hackathon.
What we learned
We learned how to make GUI elements for python and got a better understanding of machine learning models.
What's next for T.A.L.L-language-learning
Adding support for more languages and supporting older grades by adding word tracing. We would also like to improve the GUI.
