Inspiration
Sometimes you see a cool recipe but you don't have the time to get the ingredients. We help solve your problem.
What it does
We provide you with a list of recipes and the corresponding ingredients for each. We let you buy those ingredients on demand and have them delivered to your door using Postmates delivery service.
How we built it
We scraped a list of recipes from budgetbytes.com. When the user selects a recipe, we create a request to the Postmates API specifying the igredients needed for that recipe and the drop off location. We provide live updates about the status of the delivery to the user.
Challenges we ran into
Our biggest obstacle was learning how to authenticate our product when accessing Postmates API. This involved learning how basic authorization works and how browsers treat security.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It just works.
What we learned
We learned that Cross-Origin Resource Sharing makes it difficult to send HTTP requests to an outside server from a browser.
What's next for T#47 - Sous-Chef
We would like to implement extra features, such as allowing users to filter out ingredients that they already own.
