Inspiration

Meetings generate valuable ideas, decisions, and action items, yet much of that information is lost or forgotten because taking notes and following up manually is time-consuming. We wanted to build an AI agent that doesn't just record meetings—it actively understands conversations, reasons about what matters, and takes action automatically. Syntra AI was inspired by the vision of autonomous AI assistants that help teams focus on collaboration while routine administrative work happens in the background.

What it does

Syntra AI is an autonomous meeting intelligence agent that joins virtual meetings, understands conversations, and transforms discussions into actionable outcomes. It automatically transcribes conversations, generates structured summaries, identifies key decisions, extracts action items, assigns tasks to participants, detects deadlines, and creates follow-up reports. By integrating with productivity tools, Syntra AI helps teams stay organized and ensures important tasks are never overlooked.

How we built it

We built Syntra AI using a modern full-stack architecture with a responsive web interface and cloud-based backend services. AI models analyze meeting transcripts, reason about conversation context, identify decisions and responsibilities, and generate structured outputs. We integrated speech-to-text processing, large language models for reasoning and planning, calendar and productivity integrations, and automated workflows that enable the agent to complete tasks beyond simple text generation.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was designing an AI agent that understands meeting context rather than simply summarizing conversations. We focused on accurately distinguishing action items, decisions, owners, and deadlines while reducing ambiguity. Another challenge was orchestrating multiple AI capabilities into a seamless autonomous workflow that feels reliable and useful for real teams.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of building an AI system that goes beyond a traditional chatbot by acting as an autonomous meeting agent. Syntra AI doesn't just answer questions—it reasons about conversations, plans follow-up actions, organizes meeting outcomes, and automates repetitive productivity tasks. This demonstrates how agentic AI can improve workplace collaboration and reduce administrative overhead.

What we learned

This project taught us that building autonomous AI systems requires much more than integrating a language model. We learned how to combine reasoning, planning, memory, workflow automation, and external tool integration to create an AI agent capable of making meaningful decisions and taking useful actions. We also gained valuable experience designing reliable AI workflows for real-world business scenarios.

What's next for Syntra AI

Our long-term vision is to evolve Syntra AI into a fully autonomous workplace agent. Future features include persistent memory across meetings, multi-agent collaboration for complex workflows, email drafting and sending, automatic calendar scheduling, project management integration, multilingual meeting support, real-time coaching during meetings, enterprise knowledge retrieval, and proactive task execution. Ultimately, Syntra AI aims to become an intelligent teammate that continuously learns from interactions and helps organizations operate more efficiently.
