Inspiration
- From the story of "The Tree and the Reed" (or "The Oak and the Reeds"), told by many cultures in different ways.
- Motivation: building cross-cultural communication experiences, one of which is multi-language.
What it does
An XR experience to learn about this history in multiple languages.
How we built it
Blender, Unity, STYLY
Challenges we ran into
- Designing user experience regarding language learning (audio, visual)
- Testing visuals on Apple Vision Pro
- Implementing Spatial Audio that works in Unity, STYLY, and Apple Vision Pro
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Using an open source app for AVP, Vision Pro Blender Live Streamer (https://github.com/SouthwestAir/Vision-Pro-Blender-Live-Streamer) to test the 3d model in AR.
Learned many tools, whether we ended up using them or not.
What we learned
The tools we were debating on whether to use or not.
- Used: Blender, Unity, STYLY, Apple Vision Pro, (a bit of) Xcode -> Vision Pro Blender Live Streamer
- Didn't use but got a chance to learn: Spline, A-Frame
What's next for synth~cerely
Continue building this project to add more audio, visual, and interactivity that allows users to listen to this story in more languages and learn them.
This is an ongoing project. More info to be updated.
