Inspiration

A simple and effective way to send files locally to your local household or school network.

What it does

Allows for simple, fast, and efficient transfer of any files within a local network without the usage of a server. It can send multiple files at ease while having a friendly user-interface that can discover the IP address of the person receiving the file.

How we built it

We built it on Java, using features like Java Socket, Swing, and other Java GUI features.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into challenges on how to port the file without the file being corrupted, for example, sending an mp4 file can lead to corruption due to it being sent too fast or another issue can be learning how to make a GUI interface.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The program is easy to interact and use. We're especially happy with how it can all be done over a local network and not using Bluetooth. Being able to send multiple file at once was one of our biggest features and celebrations. I'm glad that we managed to figure things out and make something worth presenting to.

What we learned

Learning GUI elements, learning how to use sockets, and making a GUI that is easy to navigate and able to send multiple files at once.

What's next for Syntax Error

Going to sleep after this long event, Peter taking his exam, and Noah hopefully finding his lost cat.
