Synesthesia

Inspiration

When we initially met at the team building session, we found that we all shared a common interest in music and wanted to find a way to make listening to music a more exciting experience.

What it does

We created a series of 'music videos' - vector animations to go along with some of our favourite songs.

How we built it

We built these music videos using p5.js.

Challenges we ran into

We initially wanted to create AR or VR experiences that responded to sound in the environment, but struggled to implement these experiences into application suitable for mobile devices. We therefore decided to make fun web-based experiences instead.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We learnt a new language, p5.js, during the process and managed to create some interesting animations.

What we learned

We learnt a new language and about the different platforms that can be used for VR/AR development.

What's next for Synesthesia

We would like to combine these videos to create an app that would allow people to create customised music videos, or VR/AR experiences that would allow these compositions to be more immersive.
