SyncSpace is a productivity and self-care app designed to maximize productivity and inspiration through interactive spreadsheets and a list of items that can be done as alternatives to doomscrolling for users to accomplish their personal and professional goals in small steps. The web app currently features an interactive task tracking spreadsheet with nested rows corresponding to a class where multiple assignments can be added and deleted for each class, a navigation bar linking to the productivity, hobby tracking, profile, settings, and shop pages, and a productivity dashboard with cards displaying priority school/work and hobby tasks, along with time estimates and buttons that navigate to the productivity and hobby tracking pages, respectively. This project will be continued after Bitcamp 2026 and will implement a hobby planner spreadsheet similar to that on the productivity page, a grid of options for micro-tasks for both school/work and for hobbies to suggest alternatives to problem behaviors like doomscrolling or rumination on OCD thoughts, a list of daily hobby tasks for users to focus on small, specific, and achievable goals, an XP leveling system, a currency (called Lumen) system where users can purchase cosmetic and social upgrades from a shop, and the integration of a screen time tracking API for the identification of trends in problem behavior occurrences. With the app's partial focus on mental health, the app will also feature an OCD thought tracker and manager where the user will reflect on why a specific thought is present, its cause, what delusions about identity and goals result from the thought, why the thought is destructive, and how the thought can be challenged. This project is inspired by my own experiences with OCD, with the goal of this app not precisely being therapy, but rather the development of a sense of identity outside of a user's OCD thoughts. This app should not feel like therapy, as if this was the case, it would go against the app's goal, which is for the user to develop a sense of identity outside of what they do in therapy. The app attempts to integrate both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation by reminding users of their goals and passions while also gamifying the user experience.
