Inspiration

The inspiration for Synchrony comes from a tool we wish we had - a user friendly visualization of sentiment present in comments. Synchrony comes from synchronizing creator interests with audience attitudes, all powered by AI.

What it does

Synchrony works by scraping the comments of social media content, currently Youtube, Mastodon and Reddit. Users can expect to receive a nuanced sentiment analysis in paragraph form allowing creators to gain insight into the audience attitude into content. This is especially helpful when analyzing large amounts of content and allows creators to lower acquisition cost per user and create content that resonates.

How we built it

We built it using Python, Groq AI and API calls on the backend. It takes in comments scraped from a creators account and then outputs a paragraph which analyzes the attitudes of the audience.

Challenges we ran into

We were unable to gain access to Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok data as we needed authentication which was not possible in the 24 hour timeframe. This caused us to pivot to Mastodon and Reddit instead as possible social media to run sentiment analysis on.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Current methods of sentiment analysis for social media comments are quite clunky and not user friendly. We are proud of being able to make a tool to make building cool sh*t easier and tap into the creator economy which is only expected to grow.

What we learned

We learned how to implement Groq API for future projects.

What's next for Synchrony

Improving platform support for Instagram, Tiktok, Patreon, Facebook as those are some of the platforms with large creator bases. We would like to add the ability to make profiles so a creator can access cross-platform insights all in one place.
