Syncareer

Inspiration

As a student in Ghana, the biggest problem I am likely to face is youth unemployment. Many of my friends and close relations already face this problem, so I decided that I had to do something about it before it is too late. That's how I came up with Syncareer.

What it does

Syncareer is a career guidance and employment intelligence platform. It assesses the user and, based on that data, suggests careers for them. It then goes on to direct the user to sites/places where they can learn various skills. It also has a market analysis feature where it predicts current market trends and in-demand skills. It has an interview preparation feature, a career counseling booking feature, and an AI that uses all the data you have put in the system to personalize advice and suggestions to you. Finally, it has a CV scanner that analyzes your CV and suggests skills you could add to enhance it.

How we built it

Syncareer was built through vibe coding with Replit, Lovable, and v0 by Vercel.

Challenges we ran into

I've run into several challenges, the first being financial. Hosting and building Syncareer came at a cost, which caused a lot of pauses in the project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Since its launch 2 weeks ago, Syncareer now has 78 users, 3 of whom are using the premium version. Although this is not enough to break even, I am hoping to gain more users and scale it even further.

What we learned

Through Syncareer, I've learnt website and domain hosting, vibe coding, version control, and software development.

What's next for syncareer

I am planning to scale Syncareer into a larger platform to cater to more youth who are unsure of their career path and help them excel in their field. With adequate resources, I am planning to create ambassadors and referral programs to further drive marketing.
