Inspiration

The process of making a PC is long and tedious. The most difficult part is deciding what parts to buy. We set out to make this process more efficient.

What it does

With Sync, all you have to do is put in a game, and then it automatically returns all the parts that you need to build the computer that can play it, as well as the cost of each part and a link to buy each item

How we built it

We built Sync by gathering product sales online and then storing them in a relational database management system.

Challenges we ran into

We encountered many connection issues when collecting product listings. We had to try many different approaches to solve this issue.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of learning how to set up a database, being able to effectively collect relevant data online, and how to build a frontend.

What we learned

We learned a lot about everything that is required to build a full stack application. Neither of us had any experience in web dev or data science, so this project taught us a lot about this process.

What's next for Sync

We are planning to make this platform work for more than just computers. We could potentially add natural language processing so that the user can ask to buy anything and then the website will search the internet for sales for the item you're trying to buy.
