Inspiration

I used Pinterest as well as my own experiences as a university student as sources of inspiration.

What it does

It has a questionnaire that users can take in the beginning of using the app, which will allow artificial intelligence (AI) to recommend study techniques and resources specifically for the user. Artificial is good in a lot of ways, but it lacks emotional intelligence. Many students face mental health problems, especially when they come to a new study environment, and AI may not be able to help students in this aspect. Thus, users can be connected to professional counsellors who are specialized in helping students with academic stress. My app also connects users with students from all over the world to encourage each other and give each other the motivation they need to thrive in post secondary education.

How we built it

I only used Mockflow for this project.

Challenges we ran into

It was my first time using Mockflow, so it was a bit difficult to find how to use some of the functions. It also took a lot longer than I expected, which stressed me out quite a bit.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of thinking of creative ideas to help students manage their academic struggles in post secondary education.

What we learned

I learned that UI/UX design is a very long process that involves a lot of thinking and testing, but it is very rewarding.

What's next for Synapse

I hope to improve the design a bit more and conduct more user research.
