We were inspired by the struggle and workload of health care workers and as such we wanted to find a way we could lessen their workload or make their process more efficient. That's where Synapse ER comes in, it's a handoff helper that accepts medical records in PDF format and then summarizes it and puts it into the SBAR healthcare format through the use of Gemini.
It was challenging within the beginning to find an API that fit the project and we ended up trying out several different models before finding one we could implement nicely and that would fit the project's needs. While we came across another challenge near the end when it came to deploying the website. However, we got past these challenges and made a working website that does exactly as intended.
