Inspiration

As avid learners and enthusiasts of the financial markets, we were constantly faced with a deluge of information and complex jargon that made the process of understanding and investing quite daunting. We noticed that many around us felt the same - the world of finance felt inaccessible, despite it being a crucial aspect of our lives. We wanted to bridge this gap and make financial literacy accessible and understandable for everyone. This is what inspired us to build Symply Finance.

What it does

Symply Finance is an AI-driven platform aimed at democratizing financial knowledge and investment advice. Leveraging advanced Natural Language Processing and Generative AI, it provides users with precise, real-time financial advice, and investment strategies, effectively bridging the knowledge gap in the world of finance.

How we built it

We built Symply Finance using a combination of cutting-edge technologies including OpenAI's GPT-3 for generating human-like text, Langchain for managing conversational flow, and various Web-search APIs to query for real-time market updates. With Python at its core, the platform integrates these technologies seamlessly to provide a user-friendly interface and an efficient advisory system

Challenges we ran into

We faced several challenges throughout the development process. A significant hurdle was the integration of various AI technologies to create a seamless, conversational user experience. The utilization of web search APIs posed another challenge due to compatibility and efficiency issues. Ensuring the accuracy and relevance of the financial advice provided was a critical challenge, as it required extensive testing and continuous fine-tuning of the AI model

We're proud to have developed a platform that not only simplifies complex financial concepts but also empowers users to make informed financial decisions. The positive feedback from early users and seeing our platform actively contribute to their financial literacy and investment success has been immensely rewarding

What we learned

Building Symply Finance taught us a great deal about the complexities of financial markets and the potential of AI in transforming the way we access and understand financial information. We also learned how crucial user experience is in an AI-driven platform, as it directly impacts the user's trust and comfort level with the AI

What's next for Symply Finance

In response to the challenges we faced, our immediate plan is to migrate Symply Finance to the Azure platform, leveraging its compatibility with OpenAI. We believe this move will resolve the issues we encountered with the web search APIs and facilitate better harmonization of various components of our system. We also aim to integrate financial APIs to expand the scope of our services. The long-term vision for Symply Finance is to incorporate a Robo-advisory service for automated financial planning and investment management. Furthermore, we plan to extend our services to more complex financial scenarios, including tax planning, retirement planning, and more, making Symply Finance a comprehensive financial companion for everyone.
