Inspiration

As someone who gets sick a lot, I am extremely grateful to be supported financially, and that my parents make enough income to support all the medication I have had to take over the years of my contacting illnesses; I am also extremely lucky to have a knowledgable sister in the medical field, who can help guide me with tips and which medications to take when I do contact these illnesses. However, some do not, and so this inspired me to build a simple webpage, which may help people in times of sickness.

What it does

This website includes lists over the counter medication for different needs, herbal reliefs, news of recent disease, and pharmacies available with the following medications. It allows for a user to interact with the page, and access what over the counter medications they might need for their common illness, to help them recover quicker.

How we built it

I built it using basic HTML, CSS, and JS. There was basically no backend involved at all.

Challenges we ran into

I ran into a lot of challenges with the files not linking together (external CSS and JS sheets), and overall just forgetting a lot of syntax for HTML.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am very proud of how this project was able to come together with basically 0 backend development whatsoever.

What we learned

I learned that sometimes it's easier to have a game plan of how'll you delve into the project before actually attempting it. You waste more time if you go straight into it.

What's next for SympGuide Webpage

I think eventually, I'd like to expand it using AI to help search for affordable prices and medications, and incorporate AI into for different aspects. I like to develop more into the backend.
