Inspiration
We often see that a group is better than one when dealing with mental health problem. Mental health is not just the absence of a mental disorder. It’s found in people of all countries, and societies. A survey in Indonesia suggests that Centralised funding for Indonesian mental health is only 1% of the national health budget and health expenditure is around only 3% of GDP. Thus we are coming with an online free solution for self group therapy sessions named Sympathy.
What it does
In sympathy users can create rooms to socialise themselves in an open environment to discuss about their problems without revealing your identity. It helps shy and introverts who are not confident enough to speak in public openly.
How we built it
We used the M.E.R.N stack to develop the basis of our website and GitHub for collaboration among team members. In the project, we also used Twilio messaging service for OTP generation and WebRTC to work with real time communication via application programming
Challenges we ran into
We had some minor challenges while working with WebRTC Also, while dealing with authorisation, we had some technical issues.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of making a platform that solves real-life problem to deal with mental health issues. Through this project we learned many new technologies like WebRTC and Twilio
What we learned
We learned how to work and collaborate together in a team and how to deal with glitches and minor bugs in the project. We learned how to make our code more efficient and got exposure to different technologies
What's next for Untitled
We are planning to make one report system also to maintain discipline in the platform Also we are planning to make one AI chatbot for our website.
