Inspiration

I wanted to create a Devvit app, and a daily word game felt like the perfect fit for the platform.

What it does

Users solve crossword-style clues by combining syllables, players can compare scores in the daily leaderboard. There is a new puzzle every day.

How I built it

Using the Reddit Developers Platform and Devvit blocks, it has been optimized for Desktop and Mobile.

Challenges I ran into

Designing within the limitations of Devvit Blocks, particularly with button styles, was challenging but overall a very positive development experience.

What I learned

Building for Reddit is fun.

What's next for Syllacrostic

Expanding gameplay mechanics, improving mobile compatibility, presenting more data to users on streaks and daily play counts, enhancing the r/Syllacrostic subreddit with awards and flair.
