InspirationThe current civil registration system relies on manual paper-based records. This leads to data loss, data entry errors, and significant delays when searching for civil status documents. Furthermore, declarations based solely on citizens' statements encourage identity fraud, document forgery, and the creation of accidental or intentional duplicate records.

What it does

SyGEC is a modern, centralized, and serverless web platform designed to automate the entire lifecycle of civil registration records, including births, marriages, deaths, and citizenship records. The platform directly connects maternity centers and courts to ensure secure registration at the source. It assigns each citizen a permanent and immutable Unique Identification Number (UIN), incorporates an offline mode to address local internet connectivity challenges, and generates official certificates secured with a tamper-proof dynamic QR code.

How we built it

The Gemini API serves as the intelligent core of the system through four major pillars: • Verification and OCR: Automatic text extraction from scanned supporting documents and consistency checks between the extracted information and the data entered by the civil registration officer. • Duplicate Detection: Advanced semantic and phonetic analysis to identify citizens registered under false identities or with intentionally altered spellings. • Conversational Assistance: An integrated AI assistant that guides civil registration officers in using the platform and navigating complex legal and administrative procedures. • Analytics and Reporting: Automated analysis of regional demographic trends and instant generation of summary reports for government ministries and decision-makers.
