Inspiration
Making outfits can be difficult. Sometimes, your closet is filled with random clothes that you just don't know how to style. Other times, you may feel that your closet is lacking. Having an app that gives you tailored recommendations for everyday outfits will makes things a lot easier.
What it does
Swyle uses AI and ML to deliver personalized recommendations to each user. For every individual item that a user "likes", Swyle takes that information and adds it to the user's preferences. This helps the user find items similar to their taste a lot easier. Additionally, AI is used to deliver personalized outfit recommendations. This means a whole outfit, including a top, bottom, shoes, and or accessories. Much like the individual items, users can like or dislike each outfit in the Outfit Maker tab. Users can also see real life examples/inspirations for each outfit recommendation or they can add each individual item instead of the whole outfit. Users can save items into albums/outfits which can be displayed on their profile. There is also an explore page where users can find additional inspiration or follow their friends/influencers/businesses.
How we built it
We used Figma to create a layout of our app.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we ran into was UI/UX of the app. For example, we struggled with finding a way to make the app flow between different tabs. Additionally, we struggled with how we wanted to present individual items vs outfits.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of how we were able to overcome our challenges to create an app the flows and can deliver and useful tool to our users.
What we learned
We learned the importance of collaboration and feedback. We went through different version/layouts for the app before coming to our current product.
What's next for Swyle: AI powered clothing matchmaker
All thats left is to implement all the features. Right now we only have the layout and implementing the AI features and producing a working mobile app will be a long and difficult journey but will be rewarding in the end.
