Inspiration

http://www.kongregate.com/games/nicotuason/dojo-of-death The game is very well designed. It's simple, light-weight yet fun to play and leave the player with deep impression. we decided to implement this gameplay to mobile and write a story about it based on an ancient Vietnamese event (Ly - Tran dynasty)

What it does

a hack n slash combat system using dual joypad combine with non-linear open-world adventure features boss fight, weapons, spells.

How we built it

We initially using javascript to build the game but later switch to unity to add more complex features (in order to save time). We never shipped the game due to resource shortage.

Challenges we ran into

  • control system: the game mechanic is natural for Mouse and it's hard to implement it to touch device. The dual joy-pad system we come up with doesn't completely satisfy us.
  • resource: the scope was large but we only have 3 people (no one really have a fulltime job) so we expected it to take a long time to finish. Unfortunately we can't keep supporting it.

we launched a website for crown-funding with trailer and a playable prequels
