Disclaimer
Unfortunately, we didn't quite finish the match algorithm. But since we still think the idea is great, we want to continue the project. Nevertheless have fun with our idea.
Inspiration
Our idea is to quickly pick a movie. And preferably with the whole group of friends. Our inspiration was the app Tinder. With a simple swipe to the right or left, you can quickly find the perfect movie. The selection of the film should be as fast as possible, because no one wants to wait long.
What it does
Everyone knows it. A movie night together with all your friends, but you don't know which movie to watch. Everyone has their own preferences, interests and favorite movies. This is where Swatch comes in handy. With this app it is possible to tinder a perfect movie! One person creates a session and selects FSK, genre and streaming platform. Everyone else logs in with the generated code. Now everyone is shown the same sequence of movies. Everyone can now vote individually for watching the movie by swiping to the right. Swiping to the left one does not want to watch the movie. The movie with the most votes is seen as a match and is displayed. So you have found the best matching film in no time.
How we built it
We have turned our idea into Flutter. Due to the easy portability, this is the perfect way that all your friends can swipe together. We have optimized the app for smartphones, whether IOS or Android.
Challenges we ran into
Building a complete app with all the server communication in such a short time was the biggest challenge for us.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Making the entire UI simple and intuitive was our top priority. The real-time search for the perfect movie is also a special feature. Thanks to the uniform color scheme and the clearly structured structure, the app invites you to try it out.
What we learned
That teamwork is essential. Discussing, sharing experiences and knowledge, and generally supporting each other is absolutely necessary. We also learned how to deal with flutter better. The Hackatum was definitely a good opportunity to implement such a project, as a team.
