Inspiration

LoveGuru was inspired by the challenges young men face in modern dating apps. Many struggle with crafting engaging conversations and optimizing their profile photos, leading to fewer matches and missed connections. We wanted to create an AI-powered assistant that could provide personalized guidance to help users build confidence and improve their dating success

What it does

LoveGuru is an AI-powered dating guru (coach) that provides:

Smart Chat Assistant: Analyzes conversations (text or screenshots) and generates personalized response suggestions in different tones (casual, flirty, funny, deep) Photo Rating & Analysis: Uses AI to evaluate dating photos across 5 categories (lighting, angle, style, background, expression) and provides actionable improvement suggestions Personalized Tips: Daily dating advice tailored to user experience levels Confidence Building: Tools and insights to help users present their authentic selves effectively

How we built it

We built LoveGuru using modern web technologies:

Frontend: React 18 with TypeScript for type safety and better development experience Styling: Tailwind CSS for responsive, modern UI design AI Integration: OpenAI GPT-4 Vision API for conversation analysis and photo evaluation Icons: Lucide React for consistent iconography Build Tool: Vite for fast development and optimized production builds Deployment: Netlify for seamless hosting and continuous deployment

Challenges we ran into

AI Prompt Engineering: Crafting prompts that consistently generate helpful, appropriate suggestions while maintaining different conversation tones Image Analysis Accuracy: Fine-tuning the photo analysis to provide constructive feedback without being overly critical User Experience: Balancing comprehensive features with intuitive navigation, especially for mobile users API Rate Limiting: Implementing graceful fallbacks to mock data when API limits are reached Responsive Design: Ensuring the app works seamlessly across desktop and mobile devices
