Inspiration

My wife complains about having a struggle to delete her photos. There are so many click steps just to delete some photos.

What it does

This app makes the deletion process faster just by swiping the photos/videos that we want to delete or keep. User can come back again at any time and resume the deletion process without needing to review the same photos/videos that already kept.

How we built it

I built it using Flutter as main framework to make sure app availability across platforms. The first step was to make swiping process for deletion, then marks photos/videos that want to be deleted. Then if deletion processed, it will delete all the media that marks as deleted.

Challenges we ran into

The Challenges was to provide features that making the deletion process easier and faster. The first mvp was just having a deletion process. then when I tested it to my wife, she complained about many things XD. Because she said a valid complain, I need to come up with a solution inside the app and provide feature like saving session, kept history, date filter.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I managed to complete all the features that my wife needs :D including integration with services like RevenueCat, AdMob, Crashlytics.

What we learned

Building app that has a monetization plan should have a features that can be sold to users. Grinding ideas to make it a solid app. Providing Pro Plan that worth to the users. Also keeping the app usable is also an important part since the app is Free at the start.

What's next for SwipeDelete: Gallery Cleaner

Collecting feedback is what I need to enhance the User Experience, making sure the app having a good quality or even a TOP quality among the other competitors.
