What it does

Gamified version of professional networking. Implemented swipes to make connecting more engaging and less intimidating. Implemented Google authorization to improve security and identity verification. Profiles are almost entirely anonymous with only the initials of employees displayed and no images, enforcing a reliance on correspondence between qualifications and expectations in place of race- and gender-induced bias.

How we built it

Experimented with Android Studio, adding multiple xml files and Koltin.

Challenges we ran into

Program took a while to build. Had previously had no experience with using Kotlin and Android Studio.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Overcame initial challenges in making the program run. Learned more about SQLite implementation and the implementation of swiping on mobile apps.

What we learned

Gained experience in using Android Studio.

What's next for SwipeHire

Hope to implement a points and reward system. Working towards implementing a mandatory feedback to ensure applicants immediately receive constructive criticism. Needs a new database of matches.
