Inspiration
67 M tonnes of food goes waste in India every year while 200 M people sleep hungry. Swiggy, on the other hand, delivers food to thousands every day. Idea is to use the vast network of Swiggy and the tech to solve the food wastage problem of India.
What it does
It connects the places that have surplus food (restaurants, party halls, corporates etc.) to places that are working on distributing food to underprivileged (soup kitchens, NGO's etc.) using Swiggy's delivery network and efficient algorithms.
How I built it
Build a small demo mock-up using java and angular.
What's next for Swiggy-waste-avoidance-and-agile-distribution(SWAAD)
Would love to see and on-ground implementation and stats regarding how much did we save and how many could we feed.
