Inspiration
The transition from school to university is a huge leap forward. Without the right guidance, most people tend to give up and feel lost without any sense of direction. When we stumbled upon the idea of a tool which could help students effectively learn, we did not hesitate further in making an effort to make things better.
What it does
Our website provides students with the facilities needed for visual learners to effectively create a picture and paint it. It also summarizes large amounts of information and compresses it into easy-going notes. For gamification purposes, we have added flashcards and the option to test yourself.
How we built it
We have mainly used a basic tech stack of HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript for the front-end, React JS and some npm packages for functionality.
Challenges we ran into
Since we originally had 4 members in our team but 2 dropped out, we tried our level best to work on the front-end. The back-end was the main struggle since our expertise is front-end. We also faced some trouble with using new libraries of Javascript.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created a smooth UI interface for our website that is interactive.
What we learned
To be better prepared for a hackathon as there are many more elements to put into the picture besides just our skills.
What's next for SwiftStudy
We will incorporate more helpful features such as timers, translation APIs etc. for students to get the best of the app.
