Inspiration

SwiftPass was inspired by the widespread frustrations experienced by fans during high-demand event ticketing (Most notably, booking for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour). We recognised the inefficiency, unfairness, and the prevalence of scalping in the current ticketing systems, which often leaves genuine fans disappointed. Determined to change this, we envisioned a solution that leverages cutting-edge blockchain technology to streamline the ticketing process and make it equitable for all.

What it does

SwiftPass revolutionises event ticketing by providing a fast, secure, and fair platform for purchasing tickets. Utilising XRPL's swift transaction processing and EVM side chain's smart contract capabilities, SwiftPass ensures a seamless ticket buying experience. It dramatically reduces the chances of website crashes during peak times and effectively combats ticket scalping, ensuring that tickets reach true fans at fair prices.

How we built it

We built SwiftPass as a mobile DeFi application using React Native, ensuring a user-friendly experience across both iOS and Android platforms. The backend is powered by Node.js, interfacing with the XRPL blockchain for transaction management. We employed smart contracts on the EVM sidechain, developed in Solidity, to enforce purchase limitations and authenticate user identities, thus preventing scalping.

What's next for SwiftPass

The development of this application will be spread across several phases. The initial phase will focus on the design and development of the core blockchain infrastructure and the user interface of the mobile application. This phase will be crucial in laying the groundwork for a robust and user-friendly platform.

Following the initial development, the application will undergo a series of testing phases, including both alpha and beta testing with controlled user groups. This phase is critical for gathering feedback and refining the application based on user experience and technical performance.

Upon successful testing and refinement, the application will be officially launched. This phase will also include extensive marketing campaigns and the establishment of partnerships with event organisers and ticketing platforms.

Post-launch, the focus will shift to scaling the application, enhancing its features, and integrating additional machine learning capabilities to further improve security and the user experience. This phase will also explore the expansion of the application’s use to other areas, such as transportation ticketing systems.
