Inspiration
Over billions of youths of all over the world are lovers of one sport or the other. Football is one of the most popular sports that drives the passion of the youths all over the world. This makes people stick to checking match live scores online. This may be in order to in order to get themselves updated, predict games, and even place bets since the invention of the online bet systems. Mostly, during live matches, each fans of difference teams are always eager to monitor their teams' performance.
Problem Faced
As much as the passion of the youths in Africa are growing towards the love of football, the problem of internet coverage still draws back their interests. Lots of youths are unable to get themselves updated to the live scores due to internet issues or absence of internet devices (such as smartphones).
We Solved the Problem!
Swift scores is a solution provides offline access of live scores updates through the use of the USSD technology. It does a great job by getting live scores updates on the go by just dialing a USSD code.
How we built it
This project was built with NodeJS, the apifootbal.com live scores API, and the Africa's Talking USSD service API.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge we run into is trying to garner score results and format them in a user friendly and accessible manner.

- Using a USSD technology to create a registration system to for our users
- Using a USSD technology to create a live scores update feature for our users
What we learned
We learned more about serving our users the right way, by arranging and interface that is user friendly and not confusing.
