Sweet Treatinator: AI-Powered Dessert Inspiration

Inspiration

As first-generation children of immigrants, we wanted to create a bridge between cultural traditions and modern technology. Our own struggles with dessert indecision (cravings ≠ inspiration) led us to build a solution that celebrates culinary heritage while embracing AI. The equation was simple:

Childhood Memories + AI = Next-Gen Recipe Preservation

What it does

Sweet Treatinator is your dessert soulmate:

1. Asks personalized questions about cravings
   
2. Generates custom recipes using OpenAI
   
3. Delivers downloadable PDFs (sweet ideas / decision fatigue)
   

How we built it

Our tech stack blended creativity and code:

• Frontend: Next.js + React + TailwindCSS
  
• AI: OpenAI API (questions → answers → recipe)
  
• Design: UI prototypes through Figma, Original Procreate illustrations
  
• PDF Generation: React-to-PDF library
  

Challenges we ran into

1. AI Prompt Engineering: Perfect Recipe = f(prompt tuning)
   
2. State Management: Keeping user flows smooth
