Inspiration

Sweet is heavily influences by WeChat and the services they offer to both business owners and consumers. For Sweet, I wanted to answer the question of how can we provide the most value and best experience to both consumers and business owners in just the hospitality industry.

What it does

Sweet makes advertising for bars and restaurants simple, easy and most importantly measurable. With Sweet, restaurants can accurately track and attribute any marketing campaign or promotion to real people and real dollars in the bank.

Sweet uses real time location data to give consumers access to the best or Sweet Deals around them. Only customers closest to the restaurant, in walking distance or a short drive away will receive notifications. Sweet also rewards customers for being loyal patrons of a very intensive, competitive, yet endearing and necessary industry -- food service.

Using deals and savings as the initial draw, Sweet just makes it really easy to find and purchase the things you love using Square to facilitate payments.

How we built it

Sweet comes in two parts: the official account web dashboard for restaurants, and the consumer mobile experience iOS application. And using Firebase for real time notifications.

Sweet uses Square to save user cards and process transactions to make it easy for them to pay from their phone.

Challenges we ran into

New to iOS, I had challenges with integrating Firebase and the Location APIs to make sure all users weren't receiving notifications.

What's next for Sweet

In the near future, Sweet will integrate AI solutions for both the business owners and the consumers. We understand that for restaurant owners the last thing they want is to be sucked into another screen that takes them away from serving their customers. Sweet will use AI to fully automate the scheduling of broadcasts and offers so owners never have to touch the platform directly.

For consumers, AI allows Sweet to deliver a custom tailored experience to each and every user by showing them new offers, dishes and rewards they are guaranteed to enjoy.

Additionally, Sweet plans to dive deeper into the financial and payments side of the restaurant business by being a direct and peer based payments facilitator. This is how Sweet will continue to deliver the most value possible to the hospitality industry, by reducing their fees and growing their margins.
