💡 About the Project Swedish Vocabulary Microlearning is a minimalist web app that helps busy adults learn Swedish vocabulary through microlearning — quick, focused sessions during commutes, coffee breaks, or inbox checks. The goal: turn spare minutes into meaningful learning.
🔧 How We Built It Built fully in Bolt, using Supabase for auth, storage, and database.
Integrated Cartesia Sonic2 (TTS) for native audio.
Users read Swedish content (auto-fetched or pasted), highlight words, and save them with translations through Google translate, and sentence context.
✨ Features 🧠 Flashcard-style quizzes with spaced repetition
📩 Daily review via email or homepage
🔊 TTS playback of articles using Cartesia Sonic2
📝 Save words with context for review
💼 Basic vs. Premium tiers (limits on TTS, vocab, paste)
🧠 What We Learned Spaced repetition + active recall = stronger memory.
Microlearning works best with ultra-simple UX.
Bolt let us build full-stack features fast and iterate quickly.
🧱 Challenges Avoiding API overuse (e.g., Google Translate)
Managing TTS storage and review scheduling
🚀 What’s Next Add streaks, mastery, and offline mode
Smarter LLM-generated sentences
Expand to other Nordic languages
MicroSwede turns your downtime into language wins — one word at a time.
