Overview:

STENDHAL is an open-source MMORPG, a realm where players engage in epic adventures, form alliances, and face foes. As part of an initiative at the University of Manchester, a dedicated team is focusing on refining the game, addressing both user-reported issues and enhancing its features based on player feedback.

Phases:

Bug Hunting & Resolutions: Objective: Improve game stability and enhance player experience by addressing and rectifying reported bugs. Process: The team sifts through user reports, replicates issues, and collaboratively formulates solutions. Each fix undergoes rigorous testing to ensure no new issues arise.

Feature Enhancements: Objective: Augment the game's appeal by introducing new features and gameplay elements based on user reviews. Process: By analyzing player feedback, the team discerns potential areas of improvement or additions. New features are designed, developed, and iteratively tested to ensure they align with the game's ethos and player expectations.

Collaboration:

The project emphasizes teamwork. Leveraging diverse skill sets, the group uses modern collaborative tools, version control systems, and communication platforms to remain synchronized, ensuring the game evolves smoothly.

Engagement with the Player Community:

Central to this project is the active dialogue with the game's community. By maintaining a feedback loop, the team ensures that the changes made resonate with the player base, fostering a sense of community ownership and engagement.

Outcome:

The expected outcome is a more polished, engaging, and user-centric MMORPG that not only retains its existing player base but also attracts new adventurers eager to explore its enriched realms.
