SWB-AI Hackathon : remwork

Inspiration:

There are enormous numbers of job postings on the major job boards, but the job applicants have no way to verify if that particular job is legit or not. They have to simply do more digging or rely on their gut instinct. In the end, their energy is focused on these kinds of non-productive tasks. Instead of that, this website simply filters out non-legitimate job postings, and the applicant can simply focus on applying for a particular role.

What it does:

This website finds legitimate remote jobs, gives a score, and provides reasoning on why that particular job posting is legitimate. In addition to that, it verifies any job posting by simply copying and pasting the job post's URL into the 'Legitimacy Scanner', and it gives the score.

How we built it:

By using AI Studio, Typescript, React, HTML, CSS

Challenges we ran into:

Getting hold of unpredictable AI responses was challenging. It required a lot of trial and error. Tuning the prompts for the 'Legitimacy Scanner' took some time. Initially, it was hard to get the AI to accurately judge if a job was a scam or just a poorly written job posting. Then my Quota ran out for AI Studio, so the polishing part was hard.

Accomplishments that we're proud of:

Despite not being a technical person (but did handle software development projects as project manager), built a solution to verify legitimate jobs.

What we learned:

How AI can be helpful for the modern way of working, and how it can be used to increase efficiency for any kind of work.
