ShareWear approaches self expression and creativity through the lens of personal style. Curated filters, interaction with other users with similar fashion tastes, and visualization of outfit combinations help the user to develop and explore how they want to express themselves through their clothing choices. Users can feel a sense of community in finding others that share their style preferences, or expand their creative views by discovering styles demonstrated by other users. ShareWear also encourages inclusivity and sustainability, which are facilitated by the trading system. Instead of listing items to buy and sell, trading clothing provides a minimal cost option for refreshing one’s wardrobe, and highlights reuse of clothing in good condition. The trade-based system was created as a response to fast fashion. Instead of throwing away or buying additional clothing items, users can give new life to items they no longer want or need for a minimal cost, as both parties in a trade benefit from a fresh piece for their closet.

The most important features of ShareWear have their own icon in the navigation bar. The home page is a space for inspiration and exploration. Users can request a trade directly from the selection of an item from the home page, where users can find items based on their interests, and save them to create outfits with later, in the model page. The model page allows users to create outfit combinations with articles of clothing they already own, and pieces they have liked and are considering requesting for a trade. This takes difficulty out of online shopping, since viewers can see how new items would look with items they already own, or items they would want to put together. Trades are responded to in the trade page, where users can not only accept or deny a trade, but also counter it with another trade option. The earthy color palette reflects part of ShareWear’s goal to support sustainability. The fourth page in the navigation bar, the user profile, provides a space for users to view a summary of their activity, including liked items from others, their draft listings, their current listings, and their saved outfits. This page also provides a visual summary of the style that a user may be curating through their collection of liked items and saved outfits.
