Inspiration

Seeing so much reusable stuff go to waste every day. Realizing that small actions can create a big impact on the environment. Wanting to make sustainability easy and accessible for everyone.

What it does

List items you no longer need. Browse & request swaps from nearby users. Track eco impact — items saved from landfill. Promotes sustainable habits and community reuse.

How we built it

As a beginner, I focused on turning my idea into a clear and working prototype. I designed the user interface and workflow using Canva and built a demo website using Wix Harmony Editor to visualize how the platform would function. This helped me map out key features like adding items, browsing, and requesting swaps. I will also learn the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to understand how a fully coded version could be developed in the future. The goal was to create a simple, user-friendly demo that clearly explains the concept and impact of Swap4Good. This project prototype was created using Wix Harmony Editor to design and showcase the concept and user workflow. ChatGPT was used for content refinement and mockup image generation

Challenges we ran into

Deciding key features and how the platform should work. Visualizing the website without building it fully. Designing for sustainability while keeping it simple. Planning user interactions for Add, Browse, and Swap.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Created a full demo concept of Swap4Good as a beginner. Designed user-friendly mockups that show real workflow. Highlighted eco impact — showing how items can be reused instead of wasted. Presented a complete idea ready for future development.

What we learned

I’m still a beginner, so I learned how to plan and design a platform step by step. Learned the importance of sustainability and reducing waste. Learned how to use tools like Canva. Understood how users might interact with a website. Realized the challenges of turning an idea into a working project.

What's next for Swap4Good

Connect users with nearby swaps. Integrate recycling shops & donation centers . Launch mobile app for Android & iOS. Add gamification & rewards. Expand item categories for more reuse.
