Inspiration
We have looked upon the concept of Carbon Credit and how it's changing the path to create sustainable development across the globe. We thought of creating a platform to exchange these carbon credits on a single platform which is absent for a country like India.
What it does
Basically for prototype we have created an ERC-20 token on Etherium Blockchain and have created an app using flutter in which a user can demand carbon credit and a person can sell it.
How we built it
We have created the backend for it first using nodejs and then have written the smart contract in solidity after which we have created the app using flutter.
Challenges we ran into
Getting test ether for sepolia testnet is very hard because we don't have any ethers in our account(we are broke students) while creating the app we faced numerous challenges like handling state and handling error part because the backend is deployed on render it is very slow in performance.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We have participated in many hackathons while we were still students we got an opportunity to learn technologies like Flutter and nodejs. We also got various ideas and perspectives on different topics and projects which were truly a learning moment for us
What we learned
We have learned to deal with ERC-20 token and the most difficult part i.e. integrating the backend and the frontend together. We also learned about blockchain which is a very awesome technology.
What's next for Swach Carbon Credit System
We will try to expand this trading forum to cater to a selling side also while this time we faced some privacy concerns for it next time we will wind a work around near it.
