Inspiration:
During this emergency period fake news spread very fast on social networks. Especially young people waste a lot of time surrounded of misinformation. How are young people living during this quarantine period? The main changes regard the new lifestyle adopted. They are bored of spending all day at home. The time spent on the web is tripled, in particular on social networks and for the use of electronic devices. Contents are not stimulating and educational. They use social media in a dangerous and non-constructive way.
There are a lot of risks in this context. Trump is the classical example of how fake news spreads very fast on social networks. Millions of twitter appears after his popular speech about injecting disinfectant, only in one day.
We know the data of all the people around the world infected and deceased because of Covid-19, but how many because of misinformation? We live in a time where people are surrounded of fake news and waste a lot of time on social networks.
We are tired of seeing false and dangerous fake news for the population and especially for young people on social networks!
Just think the number of people using most popular social network are more than 1 million in Italy. We made 110 survey (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1pWRMfUIzNh14CWqvwGGPJuAmIpKKL8PRfJHtbVFz2gs/edit) to young people and we finally deduce that target who needs more our service is the university students. The 82% declare to use TikTOk as main social network, especially during this period.
One thing is for sure, they became expert tiktokers during the quarantine period! TikTok is a platform born in China as a "social app". Today the platform includes more than 500 million users from all over the world, representing the "playful" social for excellence. The contents produced lacks educational quality, but the audio / video / container format has great potential. We are tired of seeing false and dangerous fake news for the population and especially for young people on social networks!
What it does:
According to the validation of our ideas, we implement our solution by using TikTok. SVRadio squashes fake news! It is a network of experts that make available their knowledge to improve young people life, during this emergency time.
According to research done in Italy, many experts, such as doctors, psychologists, nutritionists, fitness coaches, consultants don’t know how to use digital tool in their works and are not comfortable with digital stuff. They lost contact with their clients. SVRadio solve this problem, giving them a technical and digital support in order to increase their visibility. The SVRadio network is a container of ideas from different fields and professions. Journalism, sports, music, authors, psychologists, craftsmen, teachers, users, in short, all those who want to spread truly and useful information.
How I built it:
We want use the social channel with the greatest impact on young people to create a network with educational, cultural and positive social impact on youth communities.
We follow different steps:
- Profile creation by using TikTok
- Making short videos for each expert
- Sharing of full contents on Instagram
TikTok is the tool that we use to reach young people through implementation of quick and easy videos. We create videos on tiktok using the trending songs that are located directly on the home of the famous social network and the hashtags most used by users, which therefore have great visibility.The contents are different and all maintain an ironic-informative key. Thanks to simple and usable types of topics, we want to educate university students in a new, more productive way of using social networks. From there they will be redirected to Instagram which will contain a history and they can keep in touch with the experts.
The revenue model includes three types of services.
- FREE VERSION: It provides for 1 month
the edit of 1 video on tiktok and one on Instagram stories (only for the first twenty experts who request it). - - LIGHT VERSION: 129,99€ for 1 month. It provides 5 tiktok videos - 5 IGTV - 5 InstaStories PREMIUM VERSION: 299,99€ for 1 month. It provides 10 tiktok videos - 7 IGTV - 10 InstaStories + creation/monitoring the expert profile Instagram for business.
Channel: TikTok, Instagram, blog. TikTok and Instagram are the tools that we use to reach young people through short video and stories creation. If they are curious or want to study in deep the contents they can find it on our blog (July 2020).
Challenges I ran into:
To Share culture and best practices through social network used by young people.
During the weekend we have done different activities by working in parallel and exploiting our knowledge in team work.
I step: Brainstorming and design thinking -> we used the lean methodology in order to talk about the starting ideas gathering our different point of views.
II step: internet surveys in order to validate our idea. The survey responses confirmed that more than 80% of the statistic sample (range age 13-30) spend a lot of time by using social networks. Most popular platforms for young people are TikTok and Instagram. The more interesting and useful answers allow us to deduce that they would like to watch more topics produced by experts in different fields.
III step: we change the starting idea adapting it to the interviewers needs and requests.

VI step: creation of TikTok and Instagram profiles; video contents design
Accomplishments that I'm proud of:
We already involved some experts to collaborate with us. We launched the TikTok platform and created the first videos.
What I learned:
It was an amazing experience for all of us! We work a lot for two long days. We were distant, but it seems to work face to face. The opportunity to take part to an online hackathon was great! The mentors was very helpful and kindly. They give us a lot of suggestions and tips.

We need found to hiring a developer in order to create the website, for the marketing campaign and the event organization for off line marketing. Other founds are necessary for legal consulting.
The solution is scalable, because it can be useful also after the emergency period. We offer interesting and educational contents by using social networks. We offer creation and updating of business profile for the experts. In the digital world where we live a digital marketing strategy is a must to have!
