Inspiration

Nonprofits collect a large amount of impact data, but much of it lives across spreadsheets, documents, and disconnected tools. This makes reporting slow, storytelling inconsistent, and long-term impact difficult to communicate—especially to donors, partners, and boards.

We were inspired by Social Venture Partners Boston, a real nonprofit organization that supports dozens of community organizations across food security, housing access, and education. As SVP grows, the challenge isn’t creating impact—it’s measuring, organizing, and communicating it effectively.

What We Built

We built SVP ImpactHub, a production-quality impact intelligence platform designed specifically for nonprofit networks.

ImpactHub centralizes grantees, partners, projects, and activities into a structured, Notion-style system. It transforms raw data into real-time dashboards and uses AI to generate clear, fundraising-ready impact reports tailored to different audiences, such as corporate partners, individual donors, and former partners.

The platform includes:

  • Interactive dashboards with KPIs and charts
  • Inline-editable tables for easy data management
  • AI-powered impact report generation with recommended visuals
  • AI-based partner matching with transparent reasoning
  • A demo mode with seeded SVP-style data for immediate usability

How We Built It

We built a full-stack web application with a modern frontend, a relational database, and AI integrations. The system uses structured data models to ensure accuracy and consistency, while the AI layer focuses on translating verified data into clear narratives rather than inventing insights.

The product was designed with a strong emphasis on usability, presentation quality, and real-world adoption—especially for non-technical nonprofit teams.

Challenges & Learnings

One of the biggest challenges was balancing technical depth with clarity. We intentionally avoided overusing AI and instead focused on applying it where it adds real organizational value. Another challenge was designing dashboards and reports that feel both data-driven and human-centered.

Through this project, we learned how impactful well-designed infrastructure can be for nonprofits—and how thoughtful AI integration can save time, improve fundraising, and strengthen long-term partnerships.
