Inspiration

The inspiration behind SVAB stemmed from the desire to create a versatile platform where users can seamlessly engage in live streaming, interact through chat features, and share their thoughts and experiences through blogging, all in one unified space.

What it does

SVAB is a dynamic social website that enables users to participate in live streaming sessions, watch streams, engage in real-time chat interactions, and express themselves through blogging. Leveraging the power of Livekit SDK, SVAB delivers high-quality live video and audio experiences. Additionally, it provides user-friendly blogging features with an intuitive editor for content creation and sharing.

We can pretty much reduce latency with WebRTC protocol, but scalability is an issue, so opted for a open source tool: Livekit which sorts it out!!.

How we built it

We built SVAB by integrating Livekit SDK for live streaming capabilities, incorporating authentication mechanisms for user security, and developing a user-friendly blogging interface. Additionally, we explored video transcoding features to enhance the overall user experience.

Challenges we ran into

While developing SVAB, we encountered challenges in seamlessly integrating the various features, optimizing performance for live streaming, and ensuring a smooth user experience across different devices and platforms. Additionally, implementing video transcoding posed technical complexities that required careful consideration and testing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have successfully implemented a robust live streaming infrastructure using Livekit SDK, integrated authentication for user management, and created an intuitive blogging platform. Our efforts in exploring video transcoding have laid the groundwork for future enhancements to further enrich the user experience on SVAB.

What we learned

Throughout the development process of SVAB, we gained valuable insights into leveraging SDKs like Livekit for real-time communication, optimizing performance for live streaming applications, and enhancing user engagement through blogging features. Additionally, we deepened our understanding of video transcoding technologies and their potential applications in online platforms.

What's next for SVAB - Stream, Watch Videos and Blog

Looking ahead, we plan to continue refining SVAB by incorporating user feedback, enhancing the scalability and reliability of our live streaming infrastructure, and further exploring advanced features such as personalized content recommendations and interactive blogging elements. Additionally, we aim to expand SVAB's reach and user base by leveraging strategic marketing initiatives and partnerships within the social media landscape. We are looking ahead to integrate video transcoding feature.
