Inspiration:
We were interested in a sustainability project and discuss potential avenues when Ellen got a notification on her period tracker app, and we started thinking about a project to check in with sustainability. Later, we we incorporated an interest in data visualization to make the page more engaging and informative.
What it does
Our project is a self-check tool for sustainability to let people assess their own sustainability goals and how they're accomplishing them. After enter
How we built it
We used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript collaborating on a replit project and split frontend, data input, and data visualization among the three of us.
Challenges we ran into
None of us were very familiar with web design languages and there was a lot of research at basically every step of the project to build what we wanted.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the data visualization we were able to put together thus far and the progress that was made to style the project.
What we learned
Ellen learned a lot about CSS, and Sanya and Lauren progressed more in JavaScript and data visualization tools.
What's next for Sustayn
We hope to refine the page to a more user friendly site with increased functionality and more detailed assessment criteria.
