What it does
Sustainize ♻️ simplifies sustainability from carbon footprint calculator, crowdsourced eco-stores, educative articles on relevant topics, and a centralized list of organizations and non-profits to donate to!
How we built it
The application is built on React and leverages from external APIs to gather information about eco-stores (Google Maps) and charity organizations. It was has some CSS and HTML code snippets to enhance the user experience and user interface.
Challenges we ran into
One of the major challenge I ran into was integrating the Stripe API for the payment system to make donations through the Sustainize platform itself.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Fully functional application for users to enter their carbon footprints and visualize the metrics over time. Messaging system between users of the application to share and learn from each other and work towards a common goal of saving the planet!
What's next for Sustainize ♻️
Sustainize ♻️ is not just about looking at the present and tracking our current footprints but also looking forward. This platform is a continuous work in progress - a way for your individuals to track their impact and improvements over time. Some next steps for the platform

Also, fully integrating a secure and reliable payments system to donate to organizations and charities of the user's choices.
