Today, everyone talks about sustainability, but most people don’t know how to start or stay consistent with eco-friendly habits. We realized that behavioral change happens when there is tracking, motivation, and a sense of achievement, not just awareness. That’s why we built Sustainify — a gamified habit tracker that helps individuals adopt greener lifestyles through small, daily actions. 🚀 What We Built Sustainify is a web-based sustainability habit tracker where users can:

✅ Select eco-friendly habits (e.g. saving electricity, reducing plastic, waste segregation) ✅ Track daily progress with a clean and interactive UI ✅ Earn badges and streaks for consistency ✅ View a simple dashboard for motivation ✅ Get eco-tips based on their chosen habits The goal is to make sustainability feel achievable, rewarding, and fun.

🧩 How We Built It We focused on a frontend-first approach to deliver a working MVP within the hackathon timeline.

Tech Stack: React / Next.js → UI and routing Tailwind CSS → Styling and responsiveness LocalStorage / Firebase (optional) → To store user data and progress Framer Motion (optional) → Animations for smooth interaction State was managed locally with hooks, making it easy to scale later.

💪 Challenges We Faced ⚠ Deciding which features to prioritize for MVP vs. future versions ⚠ Designing a clean UI that works well on mobile and desktop ⚠ Ensuring user progress persists without a full backend ⚠ Making rewards and streaks feel motivating instead of generic Each challenge helped us refine the flow and focus on usability. 🎓 What We Learned Designing for behavior change requires UX thinking, not just code Gamification increases engagement and habit retention Even a frontend-focused project can create real-world environmental impact Building fast in hackathons requires feature selection and clarity

🌍 Impact & Vision Sustainability is not a one-time action — it’s built daily. Sustainify turns small eco-actions into a rewarding journey, encouraging users to form lifelong green habits.

In future updates, we aim to add: Community leaderboards CO₂ savings analytics AI-based recommendations Team challenges Social impact tracking Sustainify is more than a tracker — it’s a movement toward everyday sustainability.
