Our main inspiration for this app was amazon. We wanted to make an all-inclusive storefront like amazon, but only for goods and products that are environmentally friendly. We found a few websites that had a similar idea, but were not the most intuitive. We also wanted to include a unique sense of progression in the app that improves as you buy more goods.

What it does

This app is a store that sells all kinds of goods, similar to amazon, but only sells environmentally friendly goods that help a sustainable future. It also has a sense of progression where whenever you buy goods, it gives you points towards "leveling up". There are different ranks that can be seen by friends on the app (tree planter, master forester, etc.) that show your progression and how much you use the app. There is also a graphic that shows a forest getting progressively more healthy as you buy more goods and become more environmentally friendly. This is a nice incentive for people to compete with each other and buy more goods that can help protect the environment.

How we built it

We designed this app on figma.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge we ran into was time, and found ourselves loosely putting some things together as we were very short on time. We would have refined this app and its design much more if we had more time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of the idea of progression, and it seems like a very unique and interesting incentive to buy goods that are sustainable. The visuals add a very nice touch.

What we learned

We learned to start earlier and brainstorm a lot earlier in the process, as well as dedicate more time to design and not underestimate how long it will take.

What's next for SustainaShop

We need to streamline the design and branding, with a possible logo and maybe a different name. We feel like this idea is very unique and people would definitely want to back it, so we have confidence in that regard and believe it can gain traction in the market.
